The film:

"When I watch the kids, I feel that their first expression is the will of appropriation, they say right away 'no' or 'it’s mine'; the refusal and the possession are the supports where they can place their identity.

I think that the sense of property is coming from territorial disputes; also animals have strong bonds with some objects. In a certain sense, money is God: it’s the Deus ex machina of our historical existence, this is the reason why it deserves to be kept in places (the banks), that look like churches."

The film restoration:

The preservation of the film is part of a project to valorize the works by Elio Petri, including cataloging and making available archival material belonging to the director, which was donated by his wife Paola to the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in 2007.
