Riprese dal vero, guerra 1914-18 [Da Identificare]
Wartime Footage, 1914-18 [Unidentified Film]
Lenght: 85m – Intertitles: Italian –

The film:

The film is a miscellany of life shooting, related to the first conflict, showing: scenes of provisions using military vehicles with engine or pulled by horses in country and city roads; shootings of officials and soldiers in entire figures in front of an artillery train; images of marching bersaglieri.

The first images are partially in the archive anthology Edited Wartime Footage, 1914-18 [Unidentified Film] [http://www.museocinema.it/muti_restaurati.php?id=168&l=en], conserved at the Film Archive of Museo Nazionale del Cinema.

The film restoration:

The preservation of these fragments was carried out by Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino from a 85 meter-long nitrate print held by the Museo. The materials were scanned at 2K and the digitized images were processed with digital restoration tools to stabilize images and reduce major flaws.

The preservation work was carried out in 2015 at L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in Bologna.

This preservation was part of a project to safeguard and valorize the World War I films conserved by the Film Archive of the Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino and promoted on the occasion of the exhibition, at the Mole Antonelliana, AL FRONTE. Cineoperatori e fotografi raccontano la Grande Guerra [ON THE FRONT. Cameramen and photographers recount the Great War] (curated by Roberta Basano and Sarah Pesenti Campagnoni - Mole Antonelliana, January 29 – May 17 - 2015).
