The film:

Maciste plays in one of his most famous films: this time straights injustice even in the hell, making a mess among the she-devils, seduced by his huge build and strength. Between the enthusiastic public also a young Fellini who reminds his admiration for the fantastic set-up and the infernal imposing women heavily made up.

 

The film restoration:

The new restoration of Maciste all’inferno was carried out by the National Cinema Museum of Torino and the  Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna, using documents of the era that are conserved in Torino in order to reintegrate the original intertitles that describe the Inferno using “terza rima.”

The new restoration was carried out in 2009 at the L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in Bologna.
