The film:
"I decided to shoot the entire film L’uomo dei cinque palloni in Milano because I imagined it and wrote its screenplay, with Rafael Azcona, as an event possible in a large modern city, where men live conditioned by the system setting a huge mechanism in motion. The film restoration:
The restoration was conducted by the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna and the Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino in collaboration with Warner Bros. Los Angeles and the munificent contribution of Massimo Sordella and the support of Nuovo Imaie (Roma). The restoration was realized from a 4K scan of an original interpositive in the MPI lab in Los Angel and from a sound positive. Both the elements were conserved at Warner Bros.
Special thanks to CSC – Cineteca Nazionale for making available as a reference the 35mm copy printed from the original negative at Turner International, Los Angeles.
The restoration was carried out at the laboratory L’Immagine Ritrovata in 2016 and it was screened as a world preview at the 73nd Venice Film Festival in the Venezia Classici section.
