The film:

"A few lions, still wild, caught in the immense African forests, are boarded on a brigantine. The kings of the forest  will be conducted to Europe and shown to the curiosity of the white men."

The film restoration:

The restored print of La nave dei leoni was bought by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino in 1992. The restoration was carried out by the Nederlands Filmmuseum of Amsterdam [EYE Film Institute Netherlands] from a black and white nitrate print with Dutch intertitles belonging to the Jean Desmet collection.
