The film:

Figaro is in love with Susanna, and how couldn’t he avoid it since she is played by the lovely actress Gigetta Morano? Susanna, however, is courted by the count, who is Rosina’s husband, Rosina is loved, in turn, by the page Cherubino. The lively comedy by Beaumarchais is directed with the exquisite elegance already recognized at that time. 

 

The film restoration:

The preservation of Le nozze di Figaro was carried out by the Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino, based on an tinted nitrate print. From the nitrate print, a dupe negative and a positive color print using the Desmet method were printed on safety film.

The restoration was carried out in 1997 at the L'Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in Bologna.
