The film restoration:

The restoration of Sicilia illustrata was conducted in collaboration with the Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino and the Österreichisches Filmmuseum of Vienna, from a tinted and toned nitrate positive print with German intertitles that is conserved in Vienna. The intertitles were lengthened to make them more legible, the last one was reconstructed.

The restoration was carried out in June 2008 at the L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory in Bologna.
