The film:

"The daughter of the count d’Arcole has a short life expectancy.

The slow work of Death appears under her exuberant blonde hair, on her thin and pale lips, through her eyes, that stole the intense blue color from the clear skies. […] But why are her eyes smiling? Why a thin wave of enchantment brightens up her emaciated cheeks? The young Elsa is in love. There is a nook in a small church, in her dream, clouded of incense, and in the shadows a sweet melody is growing: the  Ave Maria by Gounod. The soul of the girl is penetrated by that melody. And at the end, in her heart of hearts, she strongly wishes to meet the violinist."
